A Silent Vipassana Retreat

This silent vipassana retreat will offer guidance to open the heart, to bring awareness to the mind and the body, and to find freedom in our daily life through our practice. The retreat will include silent and guided sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks, and interviews with the teachers.

Phillip Moffitt is a member of the Spirit Rock Teacher’s Council and the founder and president of the Life Balance Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to the study and practice of living the Buddhist teachings in daily life. Currently he teachers vipassana meditation at retreat centers around the United States. In addition, he offers programs on sustaining leadership for executives in the profit and non-profit sectors and teaches skills in living programs for the public. He is a frequent contributor to Yoga Journal

Pat Coffey has thirty years of intensive meditation experience. He has studied with the major meditation teachers of North America and many Asian teachers. Pat has led week-long, weekend, and intensive day-long retreats in MA, VA, NC, MD, WV, FL, and DC. He is on the Board of Directors at the Insight Meditation Society in MA and a graduate of the Community Dharma Leaders Program at the Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Residing in Charlottesville VA, Pat is the founding teacher of the Insight Meditation Community of Charlottesville and the Blue Ridge Prison Project. Active with the local hospice, he also operates several businesses and is an inventor. Pat is married with two children.
