The Tao of Nature

May 22-26

4 Nights
$260 ($130 deposit)   Dana

Taoist spiritual practice provides us with a framework of philosophy around which each of us may discern our own personal pathway to the divine. When we are willing to listen, the Tao quite literally calls to us in a language we can understand. This retreat will include instruction in Taoist meditation practices and philosophy. The ancient Taoists tell us that the Tao can be found by observing the natural world. In this retreat we will experience one approach to the Tao of Nature by working with the energies of medicinal plants. The silence and depth of the natural world at Southern Dharma Retreat Center provides a powerful backdrop and support for this kind of spiritual work. We slow down. We become more cognizant of the natural world around us and of the gentle movement of our own inner nature. We come aware of the harmony that flows from Nature to us, thorough us, and back out into the world.

Dr. Linda Gooding has been a student of Taoism for many years. Currently, she teaches classes in Atlanta, including “Meditation for Beginners” and “Medicinal Herbs for Health” through the Evening at Emory program of Emory University. Her approach to meditation teaching combines her own personal experience and understanding with the practical perspective derived from more than 30 years as a professor of biomedical science.
