Nellie LauthBeyond Dharmakaya and God
A celebration of Christ and the Buddha

April 4-6

2 nights
$130 ($65 deposit)   Dana

At the end of his life, Thomas Merton, a Catholic monk and prolific writer and teacher, met Chadral Rinpoche, a Dzogchen (Buddhist) master in India. He immediately recognized his teacher, "the greatest rinpoche I have met so far and a very impressive person." He later commented, of going "beyond the dharmakaya and beyond God, to the ultimate perfect emptiness."

Merton’s view was an invitation for us to follow him. Many of us are raised Christian and we can find a way to include this foundation as we move beyond it to embrace the spaciousness that the Buddha describes and represents.

In the Course in Miracles, Jesus says: "Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God." He is speaking of waking from the dream and the illusion of suffering. This retreat offers simple practices and teachings from the Buddhist and Christian view to support us in this process of liberation and celebration. With chant, contemplation, and joyful teaching, experience your own Truth.
