Caroline Yongue—ordained as Lay Minister, Monastic, and Teacher Savana Amata Yasa—is Director of Center for End of Life Transitions and Carolina Memorial Sanctuary (North Carolina’s first conservation burial ground). Both initiatives are all-faiths projects of Anattasati Magga, a Buddhist Sangha for the Laity in Asheville, NC. Savana Amata began her Buddhist practice in 1990. She has made death care her life work under the guidance of her teacher, Nancy Spence. In 2013, Savana Amata was asked to present an on-line retreat, “How a Buddhist Prepares for Death,” for Tricycle Magazine.
